This Privacy Policy explains how Fetch Quest AR ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you use the Fetch Quest AR app and website (the "Service"). We've tried to keep it clear and human. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Deleting your Fetch Quest AR account & data
You can ask us to delete your Fetch Quest AR account and the personal data associated with it at any time, using either method below.
Option 1 — In the app
- Open Fetch Quest AR and go to Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. Your account is deactivated and you are signed out straight away.
Option 2 — By email
If you signed in with Apple or Google, or can no longer open the app, email privacy@fetchquestar.com from the email address on your account (or tell us your username) with the subject "Delete my account".
Once we have confirmed the request, we permanently delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days.
What we delete
- Your profile — email address, display name, username, date of birth and postcode/area;
- Your dogs and virtual pets, and any photos, posts, captions, comments, likes and follows you created;
- Your gameplay data — collected items, walk history, XP and level, and in-game currency and inventory;
- Account-linked device identifiers and analytics.
What we keep, and for how long
- Purchase & transaction records — payments are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play; we hold only the receipt/entitlement. We retain these where tax, accounting and fraud-prevention laws require, for up to 7 years, after which they are deleted.
- Safety & moderation records — if your account was banned or reported for abuse, we keep the minimum information needed to enforce that and protect other players.
- Anonymised analytics — aggregated usage statistics that no longer identify you may be retained to help us improve the Service.
- Backups — residual copies in our encrypted backups are purged on a rolling cycle, within 90 days.
We never store your camera feed, so there is nothing to delete there.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you join our launch list or create an account.
- Profile & community content — a display name, and any photos, posts or messages you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
- Location data — to place augmented-reality content around you and power location-based gameplay. You control this through your device permissions.
- Camera — the app uses your camera to display the AR experience. Camera frames are processed on your device to overlay game elements; we do not store your camera feed.
- Device & usage data — such as device model, operating system, app version, and basic analytics about how the Service is used, to help us improve it.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate and improve the Service and its AR gameplay;
- To notify you about the launch, updates and features you've asked about;
- To enable community features you choose to use;
- To keep the Service safe, prevent cheating and abuse, and comply with the law.
3. Camera & location permissions
AR gameplay needs access to your camera and location. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Turning them off may limit or disable parts of the game.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers (for example, hosting, email delivery and analytics) who process it on our behalf, and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. Community content you post may be visible to other users.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time — see Deleting your Fetch Quest AR account & data above for exactly how to do it, what we remove, and how long we retain anything we are required to keep.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent or unsubscribe from emails. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date above.
